San Marcos

San Marcos Day is an important day in Adra. Yesterday we celebrated it. San Marcos Day is also a special day because it's the day of the farmers, in Adra there are lots of farmers.

In this day (25th of April) horses and donkeys go out through some streets accompanying the procession of San Marcos.

By María Martín  6th A
April 25th is a very important day in Adra because we celebrate San Marcos Day.
It is a very old tradition. People go to parties, they wear flamenco dresses and other people wear typical costumes of Adra: striped skirt, white shirt and headscarf. There is also a Party Queen and her Honor Ladies.
The children go to the funfair and people eat in bars, restaurants, etc,..
Everyone sing, dance and is happy. And I really enjoy because, that day is the birthday of my mother. And I go to the
funfair.

HOW TO MAKE A SCIENCE PROJECT CAR

Si os quedásteis con las ganas de saber cómo construir vuestros propios coches del proyecto de Conocimiento del Medio, aquí tenéis la receta, Natalia Fernández os lo cuenta.

Here you have how to make a Science project car.

Last week , the students of 5ºA and 5ºB made a project of energy sources, we made a racing car.

Here you are the steps to make it:

1.You need: scissors, a box, two pencils, four cotton reels, three rubber bands and a stapler

2.Cut off the top of the box to make the body of the car.

3.Make four holes at the bottom of the box with the scissors.

4.Tie one end of the rubber bands to the middle of one of the pencils.

5.Tie three rubber bands together.

6.Push the pencils through the holes. Put cotton reels on the ends of the pencils.

7.Staple the other end of the rubber bands to the back of the box.

8.Wind up the pencil that has the rubber bands.

The rubber bands are a source of stored energy. When they are released, their energy transfers to the wheels as motion energy.

SCIENCE PROJECT

Our science proyect is about energy. It is about cars that can move.

The cars are made of a box of cardboard, pencils, rubber bands and card.

To move the cars you must roll the rubber bands in the pencils and then let the pencil go  and the car starts to move.

This project is about motion energy and stored energy. The stored energy in the rubber bands transforms into motion energy.

It was made by groups of five children.

BREAKING NEWS: Changes at the best pupil board

The best pupil is........
Jesús as we thought, but he is not the best pupil any more because he is not a responsible boy.
It is a pity because his photo was nice on the cardboard.......

In Spanish
El mejor alumno de la semana es Jesús como nosotros creíamos, pero lo han quitado porque no cumplía con su trabajo.
Es una lástima porque su foto quedaba bien en el tablón.
